DESIGNING A HANDMADE WEDDING GOWN

THE PROCESS

At the initial complimentary consultation we will look at images and fabrics and talk through potential designs. Our design process involves interpreting the ideas discussed, understanding the bride as an individual and how she would like to express herself, which allows us to sketch your dress.

Once the outline design of the dress has been discussed and approved by the bride, we can give an indication of cost. If the bride would like to go ahead, the commissioned dress is scheduled into our production timetable. Ideally bespoke dresses need six to nine months to complete.

TOILE FITTING

Creating the toile is the next important stage of having a bespoke wedding dress designed and made. The bride will try this cloth mock-up of the dress, cut to her exact measurements. This is the exciting moment when we can visualse and refine the chosen design on the body, perfect the fit and consider the final fabrication.

YOUR DRESS

Only once we have a clear idea of the final garment will the dress be carefully cut and constructed, bringing together all the fabric components and details discussed, using couture techniques and immaculate hand finishing. Depending on how complex the design is the number of fittings will vary

THE FINISHED DESIGN

The result will be a sublime wedding dress made to your individual measurements and body shape – luxurious, stunning and totally unique. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing our brides face light up when she sees the final creation.
